Bechem United have confirmed the appointment of seasoned tactician Kobina Amissah as their new head coach, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the club after a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Amissah replaces Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway, who was relieved of his duties on Monday, November 3, following a disappointing run of results.

Under Botchway’s leadership, the Hunters managed just one win in eight matches, alongside three draws and four defeats, leaving the team hovering near the relegation zone.

Seeking a swift turnaround in fortunes, Bechem United’s management turned to the vastly experienced Amissah — a coach renowned for his ability to stabilize struggling sides and instill discipline in his teams.

In an official statement posted on the club’s X  page, Bechem United announced:

“The wait is over! The experienced gaffer KOBINA AMISSAH is now officially at the helm as our Head Coach!
Let’s welcome him and get ready for an exciting journey ahead.”

Coach Amissah officially began work on Tuesday and is expected to oversee immediate preparations for Bechem United’s next Ghana Premier League fixture — a Week 9 clash against Young Apostles on Sunday, November 9.

The appointment is seen as a strategic move to revive Bechem United’s season and push them back into mid-table contention as the campaign progresses.
