Carlos Queiroz has unveiled a 28-man squad for Ghana’s pre-World Cup training camp and upcoming international friendly against Wales in Cardiff.

The squad, which includes five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders and seven attackers, has already begun preparations in Wales ahead of the June 2 showdown.

The Black Stars opened camp on Monday, May 25, and held their first training session at Dragon Park as preparations intensified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

One of the biggest headlines from the squad announcement is the return of Baba Abdul Rahman, who earns his first call-up since September 2023 after an impressive campaign with PAOK. The experienced left-back enjoyed a strong season in Greece, making 35 appearances while contributing three goals and three assists.

Also making his comeback is Ernest Nuamah, who returns after nearly a year out due to a serious ACL injury. The Olympique Lyonnais winger has now regained full fitness and is back in contention ahead of the World Cup.

Defender Abdul Mumin also returns following a lengthy injury absence. The Rayo Vallecano centre-back had been sidelined with an ACL injury but is now back in the national team setup alongside Augustine Boakye and Alidu Seidu.

The squad announcement also included promising youngster Paul Reverson of Ajax Amsterdam. The 20-year-old has been invited for further evaluation after impressing with Ajax’s youth side in the Netherlands.

The Wales friendly forms part of Ghana’s final preparations for the World Cup, which will be staged across Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Ghana will begin their Group L campaign against Panama in Toronto before facing England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
