Asante Kotoko have announced plans for a significant rebuilding process following what the club has described as an unacceptable 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors ended the season in eighth position, a result that sparked frustration among supporters and intensified calls for changes within the club’s structure and performance setup.

In a statement released on Monday, May 25, Kotoko admitted the campaign failed to meet the standards associated with one of Ghana’s most successful football institutions.

According to the club, the final league position does not reflect their ambition, history, or status within Ghanaian football.

Management acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the season and stressed that immediate corrective measures would be implemented to restore the club’s competitiveness both domestically and in Africa.

While recognising that difficult periods are part of football, the club insisted lessons from the campaign would shape future decisions as preparations begin for next season.

Kotoko also extended appreciation to supporters across the country for standing by the team throughout a turbulent campaign marked by inconsistency and instability on the pitch.

The club apologised to fans for the frustrations endured during the season and described the supporters as the heartbeat of Asante Kotoko.

Despite the setbacks, management remains optimistic about the future and has assured fans that plans are already underway to rebuild the squad and return the club to challenging for major honours.

The statement concluded with a call for patience, unity and continued support as Kotoko seek to re-establish themselves among the leading forces in Ghanaian and continental football.
