Asamoah Gyan Urges Arsenal to Hand Thomas Partey New Contract Amid Transfer Speculation

Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has called on English Premier League side Arsenal to secure the future of compatriot Thomas Partey by offering him a new contract, following what he describes as an “outstanding season” by the midfielder.
Partey, whose current contract with the North London club runs out in just two months, has been at the center of transfer speculation with interest reportedly coming from elite European clubs, including FC Barcelona and his former team, Atletico Madrid.
Speaking in an interview with Joy Sports, Gyan, who played in the Premier League with Sunderland, didn’t hold back in his praise for the Arsenal midfielder.
“At the moment, Partey is one of the best midfielders in the world, there is no doubt about that,” Gyan asserted.
“He has impressive statistics at Arsenal this season. Compare the winning percentage of Arsenal anytime he starts. He is a huge figure when it comes to Arsenal, so I will say they should give him a contract.”
Partey has featured prominently for the Gunners this season, clocking up 47 appearances in all competitions and becoming a central figure in Mikel Arteta’s setup.
The 30-year-old joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and has since grown into one of the Premier League’s most reliable midfielders when fit.
