Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team held Ghana’s Black Galaxies to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The highly anticipated encounter between the two West African football powerhouses showcased grit, discipline, and intense competition, but neither side could find the back of the net.

The Black Galaxies, led by head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, pressed high but were met with equal resilience from the Super Eagles, who showed defensive solidity throughout the opening 45 minutes.

In the second half, the tempo increased as both teams searched for the elusive opener. Ghana’s Kamaradini Mamudu and Emmanuel Antwi came close, but their efforts were either off target or blocked by Nigeria’s resolute backline.

Despite late substitutions and tactical adjustments by both coaches, the game ended in a stalemate, leaving the tie delicately poised ahead of the second leg.

The second leg is scheduled for Saturday, December 28, in Nigeria. With a place in the 2025 CHAN tournament at stake, both teams will be under pressure to deliver a decisive performance.

The winner of the tie will advance to the 2025 CHAN tournament, set to be hosted jointly by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
