Dreams FC coach Winfred Dormon has admitted his side anticipated a challenging encounter against title-chasing Asante Kotoko in their Ghana Premier League clash on Sunday.

The Still Believe lads were outclassed 4-1 by the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Stadium in Matchday 28, with Kotoko putting on a clinical performance to keep their title hopes on track.

Speaking after the game, Coach Dormon acknowledged Kotoko’s hunger and determination heading into the fixture.

“It was a very, very tough game. We knew beforehand Kotoko was going to give us a big challenge because they are fighting for the league,” He told Peace FM.

“If you do a comparative analysis, they were more determined to win this game to better their chances or aspirations of winning the league.”

Kotoko opened the scoring in the 17th minute through Albert Amoah before Kwame Opoku struck twice—once on the break and another via a delicate lob—to put the hosts firmly in control. Opoku’s brace takes his season tally to 10 goals.

Jonathan Nemorden pulled one back for Dreams FC shortly after the restart, but any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Wisdom Fernando Bassey added a fourth for Kotoko late on.

The result leaves Dreams FC needing to bounce back quickly as they prepare to host Berekum Chelsea on May 25 in their next Premier League fixture.
