Kotoko’s Albert Amoah Targets Victory in Champion of Champions Clash Against GoldStars
Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has vowed that the team will give everything to secure victory in the upcoming Champion of Champions clash against Bibiani GoldStars.
The much-anticipated fixture, which serves as the curtain-raiser for the new Ghanaian football season, will take place on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the DUN’s Park in Bibiani.
The Porcupine Warriors endured a frustrating campaign at the recently concluded GHALCA Top 4 tournament, finishing without a single win. Amoah, however, insists that Kotoko will approach the GoldStars encounter with renewed determination.
“From our past games with them, we created a lot of chances, so we just need to work on our goal scoring. The chances will come, and this time we must convert them,” Amoah told the club’s media team.
He added that the team is committed to correcting mistakes from recent matches:
“In football, there can be a loss, a draw or a win. We have already lost one, and we are not going to repeat that. We are working hard on our finishing because we are creating opportunities. The difference now must be putting the ball into the net.”
The match is seen as an important test for Kotoko as they prepare for their return to continental football. The CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round awaits the Ghanaian giants next month, where they will face Kwara United of Nigeria in a two-legged tie.
Kotoko will be hoping to use the Champion of Champions clash not only to secure early silverware but also to build momentum ahead of their African campaign.
