Ghana head coach Otto Addo has named three debutants in his latest Black Stars squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea. The new faces include Czech Republic-based forward Prince Kwabena Adu, Medeama SC’s exciting winger Kelvin Nkrumah, and CF Montreal attacker Prince Osei Owusu.

Former Bechem United striker Prince Kwabena Adu has been rewarded for his impressive form in the Czech top flight. The in-form attacker has maintained consistency throughout the season, earning the trust of the national team selectors who see him as a potential long-term option in Ghana’s attack.

Also receiving his first call-up is Prince Osei Owusu, a German-born Ghanaian who currently plays for CF Montreal in Major League Soccer. The 28-year-old began his career in the youth ranks of VfB Stuttgart before moving to TSG Hoffenheim, where he netted 17 goals across two seasons. His journey also took him through stints with Arminia Bielefeld and TSV 1860 Munich in the German lower divisions, where he established himself as a powerful and disciplined forward. Owusu’s consistent performances in North America have kept him on the radar of Ghana’s technical team for some time, culminating in this long-awaited invitation.

From the domestic league, Kelvin Nkrumah of Medeama SC has also earned a deserved maiden call-up. The skillful winger has been a standout performer in the Ghana Premier League this season, playing a key role in Medeama’s impressive campaign that currently sees them sitting near the top of the table.

The Black Stars are set to begin their training camp in Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday, with Coach Otto Addo expected to hold his first full session ahead of their 2025 Kirin Cup opener against Japan on Friday, November 14, 2025.

The friendlies form part of Ghana’s preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, providing a crucial opportunity for new players to make their mark and stake a claim for future call-ups.
