Thomas Partey Begins Training with Villarreal Following Move from Arsenal
Ghana international Thomas Partey has officially begun training with Villarreal CF ahead of the 2025/26 football season, less than 24 hours after sealing a move to the Spanish side.
The experienced midfielder joined the Yellow Submarine on Thursday, August 7, as a free agent, following the expiration of his contract with English giants Arsenal FC.
Partey has signed a one-year contract with Villarreal, which includes an option for a further year, marking a return to Spanish football after his previous successful stint with Atlético Madrid, where he developed into a top-tier European midfielder before moving to the Premier League in 2020.
In a swift transition, Partey wasted no time and was spotted training with his new teammates at the Ciudad Deportiva, Villarreal’s training facility, less than a day after his unveiling.
