“The motivation is high”-Ouattara on Super Clash

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed his team’s determination to turn the tide in this season’s Super Clash against Asante Kotoko.

The two most successful teams in Ghana will lock horns in a Ghana Premier League fixture at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Sunday, 15th December 2024.

Reflecting on last season’s struggles and the rivalry’s intensity, Ouattara emphasized the need for a strong performance and maximum points.

“Last season, we lost three times [to Kotoko], so the motivation is big. We are playing a new season, and we need to capitalize on maximum points,” Ouattara told 3Sports.

The coach also underlined Hearts’ commitment to avoiding a repeat of last season’s relegation battle, where they narrowly escaped the drop.

“You remember last season we survived, so we are trying to get more points so we don’t get the same pressure we had last season. To escape from that situation, we need more points, that’s why we have this motivation,” he explained
