Israeli Liga Leumit side Maccabi Petah Tikva FC have officially completed the signing of Ghanaian winger Samuel Owusu, as part of efforts to strengthen their squad for a strong push towards promotion to the Israeli Premier League.

The 29-year-old Black Stars international makes the switch from Serbian top-flight club OFK Beograd, where he played a vital role during the 2024/25 season.

Owusu featured in 23 league matches for the Serbian outfit, contributing three goals and two assists. His performances throughout the campaign reaffirmed his reputation as a dynamic and creative force on the flanks.

With 17 appearances for Ghana’s national team, Owusu arrives in Israel carrying significant international pedigree and experience. He is widely recognized for his explosive pace, quick feet, and direct style of play—attributes Maccabi Petah Tikva will look to exploit in their attacking system as they eye a swift return to top-flight football.

Owusu’s European journey began in 2014 after departing Ghanaian side Vision FC. Since then, he has built an extensive résumé with spells in Serbia, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. His career includes notable stints with Turkish club Genclebirligi and Saudi Pro League sides Al-Fayha and Al-Ahli.

His return to Israeli football represents not only a fresh challenge but also a strategic acquisition by Maccabi Petah Tikva, who view his skill set and leadership qualities as crucial to their promotion aspirations.

With his vast experience across multiple leagues and proven impact on both club and international stages, Owusu is expected to be a key figure in Maccabi Petah Tikva’s campaign in the upcoming season.
