Ghana forward Princess Marfo has been named Woman of the Match after playing a decisive role in the Black Queens’ 2-1 comeback victory over Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday.
The result in Casablanca proved crucial for Ghana, securing their place in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup intercontinental play-off and keeping their hopes of qualifying for the tournament in Brazil alive.
The Black Queens were forced to recover from an early setback after Côte d’Ivoire took the lead just four minutes into the contest at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium.
Ines Konan converted from the penalty spot to put the Ivorians ahead and leave Ghana facing an early deficit.

Ghana then took the lead in the 72nd minute when Josephine Bonsu calmly converted a penalty to make it 2-1.
The Black Queens remained disciplined during the closing stages, successfully protecting their advantage to secure a vital victory.
Marfo’s equalising goal, coupled with her overall performance and attacking contribution, earned her the Woman of the Match accolade.
