Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prince Owusu, has expressed frustration over the club’s struggles at home in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

Speaking ahead of Kotoko’s upcoming away fixture against Karela United, the coach admitted that the team’s disappointing performances in Kumasi have been difficult to accept.

Owusu revealed that the situation has been troubling for both the team and their supporters, particularly because Kumasi is the club’s stronghold and where fans expect results.

“It’s not easy at all. A lot of thinking about what’s going on, what is happening, why Kumasi, all those things cross my mind. It hurts a lot because my fans also are in Kumasi and this is where we have to satisfy them and it’s not happening. It’s very difficult for us,” Owusu said.

Despite the struggles at home, Kotoko remain in contention near the top of the league table. The Porcupine Warriors currently occupy fourth place with 39 points, trailing league leaders Medeama SC by seven points.

Kotoko will be hoping to return to winning ways when they travel to face Karela United as they look to close the gap at the top and improve their overall form in the remaining matches of the season.
