Former President John Dramani Mahama has joined Ghanaians in celebrating the Black Stars’ emphatic 5-0 triumph over Chad in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday night.

The victory, secured by goals from Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah, marked a strong return to qualifying action for Otto Addo’s side at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Reacting to the win, President Mahama took to social media to share his delight, humorously noting that the team’s performance had improved his appetite.

“I had a good appetite for dinner after the Black Stars’ 5-0 victory. Congrats, guys!” he wrote.

While celebrating the commanding result, Mahama also urged the team to remain focused and avoid overconfidence as they push for World Cup qualification.

“Let this victory not make us complacent. This should be the beginning of bringing back the love,” he added.

The Black Stars’ convincing win propelled them to the top of Group I with 12 points, two ahead of Madagascar, whom they will face on Monday, March 24, in Morocco. With momentum on their side, Ghana will look to extend their lead and strengthen their bid for a place at the 2026 World Cup.
