Promising Ghanaian striker Nana Gyamfi-Amoah has signed a long-term deal with Dutch Eredivisie side FC Utrecht, in a move that marks a major step in his budding football career.

The 17-year-old forward, who currently plies his trade with Accra Shooting Stars FC, will officially join FC Utrecht in 2026 upon turning 18, subject to the approval of his residence permit. The agreement will see Gyamfi-Amoah remain with the Dutch club until at least mid-2028.

The announcement was confirmed by FC Utrecht on Tuesday, with the club expressing high expectations for the Ghanaian teenager. Known for his sharp attacking instincts and technical ability, Gyamfi-Amoah has been a standout product of the Shooting Stars’ youth system since joining at the age of 12.

His impressive development in Ghana has also included stints abroad, most notably an internship with German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. In addition, he has represented Ghana at the U15 national team level, further solidifying his credentials as one of the country’s brightest young prospects.

Speaking on the move, Gyamfi-Amoah could not hide his excitement about the future.

“This is a dream come true,” he said. “I am incredibly grateful to God for this opportunity and can’t wait to get on the pitch, show my qualities and be part of this beautiful football family – even if I have to wait until I am 18.”

The teenager also gave a glimpse into the attributes that define his style of play and what FC Utrecht fans can expect from him.

“I am a confident player: I set up attacks, make passes, am quick and shoot with precision. Nothing stops me on the pitch and my teammates can expect 100 per cent commitment from me every game,” he stated. “I am immensely looking forward to becoming part of FC Utrecht and meeting the club’s supporters.”

Gyamfi-Amoah’s transition to European football will mark a significant milestone for the young striker and underscores the growing trend of Ghanaian talents making their mark on the global stage.
