Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has emphasized his determination to keep Ghana at the top of Group I following their dominant 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana’s emphatic win on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium propelled them to first place in Group I with 12 points, two ahead of second-placed Madagascar.

With another crucial fixture against Madagascar on Monday, Addo has made it clear that his team is fully focused on staying in control of their qualification campaign.

“It’s always easier when you’re on top. We want to stay there,” Addo said in his post-match interview. “We will try to do everything to beat Madagascar on Monday to keep the top spot.”

The Black Stars will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Madagascar, which will take place in Morocco on Monday, March 24. A win in that game would further strengthen Ghana’s chances of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
