Ghana head coach Otto Addo has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with three home-based players earning spots in the team.

The Black Stars are set to face Chad on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Morocco to take on Madagascar on March 24, 2025. These crucial encounters come in the wake of Ghana’s disappointing failure to qualify for AFCON 2025.

Among the selected players, three Ghana Premier League standouts have been rewarded for their stellar performances this season.

1. Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak – Goalkeeper)

The 32-year-old shot-stopper has been in outstanding form for Hearts of Oak, making 18 appearances in the Ghana Premier League. He has conceded just seven goals while keeping 12 clean sheets, helping his team maintain a strong position in the league. His impressive performances have earned him his first-ever call-up to the Black Stars.

2. Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC – Defender)

After making his national team debut last year, 22-year-old Mamudu has returned to the squad. The versatile defender has been a key player for Medeama SC, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 17 league matches this season.

3. Razak Simpson (Nations FC – Defender)

Simpson retains his place in the squad after a standout debut in Ghana’s last international games. The Nations FC defender impressed in matches against Sudan and Niger, drawing praise for his solid performances. This season, he has featured 17 times for his club, netting two goals.

Ghana currently sits second in Group I with nine points, tied with leaders Comoros. With these upcoming fixtures, the Black Stars will be aiming for maximum points to boost their chances of securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
