Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has commended Kwesi Sibo for his remarkable composure and quality since joining the national team setup for the first time.

The Real Oviedo midfielder earned a late call-up to the Ghana squad in September, following the team’s 1–1 draw against Chad in N’Djamena — a decision the Ghana Football Association explained was aimed at boosting the midfield options.

Despite joining camp midway through preparations, Sibo quickly made his mark with his tidy passing, intelligent positioning, and composed “one-touch” play, winning the admiration of both the technical team and supporters.

“He’s made really good impressions,” Otto said. “He trained two times with us, he was so impressive, and I decided to play him.”

The Black Stars coach also revealed an interesting exchange he had with the midfielder upon his arrival, which highlighted Sibo’s readiness and confidence to represent Ghana.

“He told me, ‘I was born ready,’ when he landed and I asked if he was ready to play,” Addo recounted with a smile.

Sibo’s early performances have positioned him as one of the promising new additions to Ghana’s midfield ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Addo hinting that the Oviedo man could play a significant role in the team’s long-term plans.
