Director-General Ampofo Ankrah commended the badminton leadership for their hard work and the consistent progress made by the sport in recent years. “First of all, let me congratulate Mr. Evans and his team.

They’ve done great. It’s a process, and the cruise has just started. Many years ago, we saw the fingerprints of hard work, which over time has culminated in the successes we see now. It has not always been rosy, but when you have a plan and good leadership, even in challenging times, you find a way. That’s what is commendable about Badminton, they’ve done great, and the records speak for themselves.”

He also highlighted the importance of supporting progressive federations as sports administration undergoes reconfiguration. “This year has been successful for Badminton, and we are hoping for better.

Angola is coming up next, and we must rally support. To whom much is given, much is expected, but when little is given and yet they deliver, we must consider how to support such federations. 2025 has been a tricky year with a lot of catching up, audits, and corrections in the sporting ecosystem, but going forward, the new board will bring new energy. We are happy to host them and hope their work motivates other federations.

The processes must be followed, guided by the LI, to ensure results-oriented support and proper structures.”

President Evans Yeboah described the courtesy call as an important step toward strengthening institutional cooperation.

“Today is an exciting day. We came as the newly elected board members of the Ghana Badminton Association to meet with the Director-General and his management team to foster collaboration and deepen our relationship with the state governing body for sports development. It is crucial for us to renew this partnership annually.

We shared highlights of what has happened this year and what we are planning for the coming year as part of introducing ourselves under our new mandate.”

He further revealed upcoming major events before the year ends and outlined the association’s forward-looking strategy.

“The year hasn’t ended yet, and two major events are ahead: the African Youth Games in Angola next month, and the National Championship in Borteyman from December 26–27, where all regions will present teams
