Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has singled out goalkeeper Felix Kyei for praise after his superb display in their Ghana Premier League opener against Young Apostles on Sunday.

The 22-year-old shot-stopper produced a commanding performance between the sticks, ensuring a clean sheet as the Yellow and Mauves secured a 2-0 victory away from home.

While pleased with the overall result, Tanko highlighted the crucial role of his young goalkeeper in ensuring Medeama’s winning start.
“Kyei is an important player to the team. He kept a clean sheet and won the man of the match award. We didn’t perform well in the first, but Kyei kept us in the game. In the end, we were able to win and secure the three points plus clean sheet,” Tanko said.

The victory provides Medeama with early momentum as they prepare for their next challenge. They will welcome Vision FC to the Tarkwa TNA Park in matchday two of the 2025/26 campaign.
