Hearts of Oak midfielder Mohammed Hussein believes that the club’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League and securing a spot in African competitions will depend on maintaining their current level of performance for the remainder of the season.

The Phobians recorded a crucial 2-0 victory over Young Apostles at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday.

Hussein played a pivotal role in the win, delivering a well-placed corner kick that led to Michael Awuah Mensah’s opening goal in the first half. His strong performance earned him the Best Player award for Matchday 23.

Speaking to the media after the match, the 20-year-old midfielder remained cautious about predicting a league triumph, instead stressing the need for sustained excellence.

“I can’t just say we are going there [Africa]. It will be determined by our performance. We are playing match after match, so let’s see what happens,” Hussein stated.

“So far as the league is ongoing, we will still pray and keep our performance so that we can go far,” he added.

Hearts of Oak will play their next game against Dreams FC.
