Michail Antonio in Ghana to support football talent development
West Ham forward Michail Antonio has arrived in Ghana to help support Samba Stars Academy with the aim of nurturing young talent and offering opportunities for aspiring players to make it to the professional level.
The Jamaican International arrived in the country on Sunday night to oversee the progress of the academy.
Antonio is excited about the project, recognizing Ghana’s wealth of football talent, exemplified by his West Ham teammate, Mohammed Kudus. Antonio expressed his commitment to helping local players reach the highest levels of the sport.
“I’m here to do my part. We’ve started an academy in Kumasi, Bompata. Ghana is full of raw talent, and we’ve already seen what Mo is doing at West Ham. Our goal is to give these boys a real shot at breaking into the Premier League.”
Antonio believes Ghana’s footballing potential is vast, and the academy will offer young players a pathway to international success. “Ghana has so much untapped talent, and we want to give these players the chance to take their families and careers overseas, whether that’s in the UK or beyond. “
