Legon Cities Captain Frank Akoto Confident Ahead of Clash with Hearts of Oak
Legon Cities captain, Frank Akoto, has acknowledged his team’s recent struggles but expressed determination to turn their fortunes around as they face Hearts of Oak this evening.
The Royals are enduring a tough run, losing their last four league matches, with their most recent victory coming against Basake Holy Stars in Week 11.
Their woes deepened in the previous round after a narrow 1-0 home defeat to Aduana Stars, even after parting ways with head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin. They currently sit at the bottom of the league table with just 11 points from 15 matches.
In a pre-match interview with the club’s official media, Akoto emphasized their focus and commitment to securing a positive result.
“Preparation is going well. This is our first training ahead of the game, and we’re preparing very well for it,” Akoto said. “We’re very much aware of what’s going on. We lost our last game and will have to come back as soon as possible, looking at our position on the table. We have nothing to lose but to go all out for all three points.”
The match against Hearts of Oak presents a significant challenge, but Akoto and his teammates are determined to fight for a much-needed win
