Ghanaian forward Kwasi Okyere Wriedt has officially sealed a return to German football after completing a move to Alemannia Aachen, joining the third-tier side from Turkish outfit Şanlıurfaspor.

The 30-year-old striker joins Aachen for an undisclosed fee after featuring in 37 matches and scoring six goals during the 2024/25 season in the Turkish First League.

Wriedt’s transfer marks a homecoming to German football, where he previously established himself as a prolific goal scorer in the lower divisions before spells abroad. The experienced attacker is expected to play a pivotal role in Aachen’s pursuit of promotion in the upcoming campaign.

Born in Hamburg, Wriedt began his senior career in the 2012/13 season with FC St. Pauli II in the Regionalliga Nord. He rose to national attention in 2015 after a standout season with Lüneburger SK Hansa, where he scored 23 goals and registered eight assists, finishing as the league’s top scorer.

His exploits caught the eye of VfL Osnabrück, who signed him for their 3. Liga campaign. There, he enjoyed a breakout professional season, contributing 20 goal involvements and enhancing his reputation as a dependable striker.

Wriedt’s consistent performances earned him a move to Bayern Munich II, where he enjoyed the most prolific spell of his career. Across 98 appearances, he scored 71 goals and delivered 22 assists, becoming a central figure in Bayern II’s promotion to the 3. Liga and clinching the top scorer title for two consecutive seasons.

Now back in Germany, Wriedt’s move to Alemannia Aachen signals a new chapter for both the player and the club. Aachen, who have ambitions of climbing back up the German football pyramid, see Wriedt as a key piece in their attacking lineup.
