Asante Kotoko SC have officially announced the return of Kwame Opoku, a former striker of the club.
The player has joined the Porcupine Warriors on a two-and-a-half-year contract. The deal is subject to medical examinations and international transfer clearance.

The forward had an impressive spell with Kotoko during the 2020/21 season. In that campaign, Opoku made 16 appearances, scoring six goals and providing three assists, performances that caught the attention of international clubs.

Opoku’s displays earned him a transfer to USM Alger in Algeria, where he continued to shine. He later moved to Moroccan side Olympique Khouribga, gaining valuable experience in North African football.

Opoku is set to wear the number 31 jersey as he bolsters Kotoko’s attacking options.

Kotoko are seventh on the GPL log with 18 points and are set to face their rivals Hearts of Oak this weekend.
