Kudus, Semenyo and Afena-Gyan shine in weekend action
Ghanaian footballers delivered outstanding performances across various leagues this weekend, with some finding the back of the net while others contributed significantly to their teams’ efforts.
ENGLAND
In the Premier League, Antoine Semenyo continued his fine form, scoring his fifth goal of the season to help Bournemouth secure a stunning 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Mohammed Kudus also found the net, scoring his third goal of the season to earn West Ham United a 1-1 draw against Brighton. Tariq Lamptey featured for Brighton, coming off the bench in the second half.

Thomas Partey registered an assist in Arsenal’s commanding 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the London derby. Jeffrey Schlupp made a late cameo for Palace, while Jordan Ayew played 84 minutes in Leicester City’s 3-0 defeat to Wolves.
In the Championship, Thomas Brandon-Asante featured in Coventry’s 4-1 loss to Portsmouth.

In La Liga, Inaki Williams provided an assist to help Athletic Bilbao secure a 2-1 victory over Osasuna.
ITALY
Caleb Ekuban came on for Genoa in their narrow 2-1 loss to Napoli in Serie A. Meanwhile, Felix Afena-Gyan scored in consecutive matches for Juventus Next Generation in their 3-3 draw against Audace Cerignola in Serie C.
GERMANY
Christopher Antwi-Adjei played 70 minutes in Schalke’s emphatic 4-1 win over Elversberg in Bundesliga II.
BELGIUM
In the Jupiler Pro League, Denis Odoi played the full 90 minutes as Antwerp defeated Dender 3-1. Christopher Bonsu Baah helped Genk secure a 2-0 victory over Anderlecht, while Lawrence Agyekum and Francis Abu contributed to Cercle Brugge’s 1-0 win over Leuven.
PORTUGAL
Samuel Obeng scored for Casa Pia in their 3-1 triumph over Arouca, continuing his impressive form in the league.
TURKEY
Alexander Djiku was pivotal in Fenerbahce’s 1-1 draw against Eyupspor, where Prince Obeng Ampem also featured. Kingsley Schindler made a brief appearance for Samsunspor in their 2-0 loss to Sivasspor.
