Kotoko Title Hopes Crushed After Medeama Defeat, Prince Owusu Admits

Interim Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has acknowledged that his side’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League title have effectively slipped away following their heavy loss to Medeama SC.

The Porcupine Warriors endured a difficult outing on Matchday 29, suffering a 4-0 defeat that has all but ended their push for the crown and deepened concerns over their recent form.

Reflecting on the result, Owusu did not mince words about the implications of the loss on their season ambitions.

“Our title dream this season is gone,” he stated.

The setback leaves Kotoko down in sixth place on 43 points, having failed to secure a win in their last three league matches—a run that has seen them fall significantly behind the leading pack.

Attention now turns to recovery, with Kotoko set to return to the Baba Yara Stadium for their next fixture against Hohoe United in Matchday 30. They will then travel to face Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf in Matchday 31.

With the title race now beyond reach, the focus for Kotoko shifts to regaining form and finishing the season strongly.
