Black Stars have been forced into a late squad adjustment after injuries ruled out two attacking options ahead of their international friendlies.

Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer has been called up to replace Iñaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante, both of whom picked up knocks during recent club fixtures.

Thomas-Asante sustained an injury while featuring for Coventry City in their victory over Swansea City, forcing him off midway through the second half. Meanwhile, Williams completed Athletic Bilbao’s win against Real Betis, but medical checks later confirmed he would be unable to join the national team camp.

The late withdrawals have opened the door for Königsdörffer, who has already linked up with the squad in Vienna and is expected to participate fully in training.

The Hamburger SV forward has been a consistent performer at club level this season, registering four goals in 26 appearances and showcasing his versatility in attack.

His inclusion provides head coach Otto Addo with an additional option as the team continues preparations for upcoming friendlies, using the matches to fine-tune the squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Königsdörffer now has the opportunity to impress on the international stage as he looks to cement his place in the national team setup.
