Asante Kotoko head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, remains steadfast in his ambition to win the Ghana Premier League despite a frustrating goalless draw with arch-rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The highly anticipated clash between two of Ghana’s biggest clubs ended in a 0-0 stalemate, a result that dented both sides’ title aspirations in the closing stretch of the 2024/25 season.

Speaking after the match, Coach Zito reaffirmed his belief that Kotoko can still be crowned champions, even though their margin for error continues to narrow.

“I still stand by my target of winning the league, even if our chances look slim,” he stated with conviction. “Until it’s over, we’ll keep fighting.”

Kotoko, who sit among the top four contenders, were hoping for a vital win in Accra to keep pace with league leaders Nations FC and others in the title race. However, a combination of missed opportunities and solid defending from Hearts of Oak meant the Porcupine Warriors had to settle for a point.

Asante Kotoko now turn their attention to their next fixture, knowing that only victories in their remaining games will keep their fading title hopes alive.
