Karim Zito Predicts Tough Battle as Kotoko Prepare for Crucial Clash Against Dreams FC
Asante Kotoko interim head coach Abdul Karim Zito has admitted that his side is bracing for a stern test when they face Dreams FC in a crucial Week 31 Ghana Premier League clash this weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors will host the defending FA Cup champions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 18, as they continue their push to reclaim the league title.
Speaking to AKSC Media ahead of the tie, Coach Zito stressed the importance of thorough preparation, revealing that the technical team is focused on readying the squad both mentally and physically.
“Any team playing against Kotoko will prepare very well to meet us, so if we are also not well-prepared, we may laugh on the wrong side of our mouth,” he said.
“So I prepare the boys mentally and physically. Every game Kotoko will play is a difficult game. Kotoko don’t have an easy game. We are preparing seriously.”
Kotoko are in the thick of the title race and cannot afford to slip at home. A victory over Dreams FC will be vital in maintaining pressure on the top contenders with only a few matches remaining in the 2024/25 campaign.
Dreams FC, however, come into the fixture with a reputation for upsets, having recently ended GoldStars’ unbeaten streak. They sit comfortably in mid-table and will be looking to spoil Kotoko’s momentum.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM at the Baba Yara Stadium and is expected to draw a large crowd, as fans rally behind Kotoko in their quest for league glory.
