Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito insists the club’s ambition to challenge for the Ghana Premier League title remains firmly intact, even though recent results have slowed their momentum.

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 0-0 draw by FC Samartex at the Nsenkyire Sports Stadium, a result that leaves them fourth on the table with 20 points—three adrift of league leaders Aduana FC.

Speaking after the match, Zito stressed that Kotoko are never satisfied with anything less than the summit.

“Apart from being the first, no position fits Asante Kotoko,” Zito said in a post-match interview.

Despite picking up just one win in their last three games, he believes the team is still well positioned.

“We are [still] chasing and it is not too late.”

He admitted, however, that dropped points at home are what frustrate him the most.

“It is only when I draw at home that pains me because I have to go and win away to balance the home games.”

Kotoko now shift focus to their outstanding fixture against Basake Holy Stars on November 26. A win in that clash could potentially propel them to the top of the standings, reaffirming their title credentials as the season begins to take shape.
