Jerry Afriyie Secures Loan Move to Belgian Pro League Side RAAL La Louvière
Ghanaian teenage striker Jerry Afriyie has joined newly-promoted Belgian Pro League outfit RAAL La Louvière on a season-long loan from Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah.
The 18-year-old, widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most promising emerging talents, makes the switch to Belgium in pursuit of regular first-team action after a standout 2024 campaign that significantly elevated his profile on the international stage.
Afriyie enjoyed a breakthrough year with Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, before earning a swift call-up to the Black Stars, where he made an encouraging start to his senior international career.
At club level, he impressed during a loan spell at Spanish Segunda División side CD Lugo, showcasing blistering pace, tireless work rate, and clinical finishing — qualities that caught the attention of scouts across Europe.
His parent club, Al-Qadsiah, initially included him in their European pre-season programme but have now decided that a competitive campaign in Belgium’s top flight would better serve his development.
La Louvière, competing in their first season back in the Pro League, will look to Afriyie’s attacking flair to boost their survival hopes. The young forward is expected to play a key role in their campaign, with the move seen as an important step toward establishing himself on Europe’s elite football stage.
