Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed his disappointment following his team’s elimination from the Ghana FA Cup at the hands of Division One side PAC Academy.

The defending Premier League champions were knocked out in the Round of 16, losing 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa.

PAC Academy, unfazed by their top-tier opponents, held their ground and took the game to penalties, where they converted all four of their spot kicks, while Medeama missed twice, sealing their early exit.

Speaking after the game, coach Ibrahim Tanko did not hide his frustration, admitting that his team could have done better.

“Honestly, I’m disappointed getting out of the competition at this stage. We had a disappointing performance in the first half, but I think we did well in the second half of the match,” he said.

With their FA Cup journey cut short, Medeama must now shift their attention back to the Ghana Premier League as they aim to salvage their season and fight for domestic glory.
