Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has applauded both his side and Sekondi Eleven Wise for their performances in Wednesday’s MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

A lone goal from Elvis Kyei Baffour was enough to secure a narrow 1-0 victory for the Porcupine Warriors, sending them through to the quarter-finals of the domestic cup competition.

Reflecting on the match, Ogum expressed satisfaction with his team’s approach while acknowledging the efforts of their lower-tier opponents.

“It was a good game where both teams played very well. We tried as much as possible to keep possession and exploit spaces behind their defensive line because we realized they mostly stayed in a low or medium block,” Ogum said in his post-match interview.

“Anytime the opportunity came, we played behind them. I think both teams played well. The most important thing is that we won and are moving forward to the next stage of the competition,” he added.

With this victory, Kotoko have set up a quarter-final clash against True Democracy as they continue their pursuit of FA Cup glory.
