Ibrahim Tanko Backs Squad Depth, Stresses Competition for Starting Spots at Medeama SC
Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has reiterated his belief in the quality and depth of his squad, emphasizing that every player has an equal opportunity to earn a spot in the starting eleven based on performance in training.
Speaking after his side’s emphatic 3-0 win over Young Apostles in their Week 29 Ghana Premier League clash, Coach Tanko stated that competition for places is a key part of his strategy as he pushes for success in the final stretch of the season.
“It’s about competition. Every player here is a Medeama player. They have some quality, and that’s why they were signed,” Tanko explained. “What I’m doing is motivating them. If you do well in training, you will have the chance to play, and that’s why every player is doing their best.”
With the league campaign approaching its climax, Tanko will now turn his attention to next weekend’s clash with Vision FC at the TnA Stadium. A win could further strengthen Medeama’s position in the top four and intensify their pursuit of another league crown.
