Dundee United midfielder Emmanuel Agyei has declared his readiness to represent Ghana at the senior level, urging the Black Stars technical team to monitor his performances in the Scottish Premiership.

The 21-year-old says wearing the national jersey is a huge responsibility but believes the time has come for him to earn a call-up.

“It’s not easy to wear the Black Stars jersey, so I’m waiting for that big opportunity. I am ready for a Black Stars call-up, and this is the time,” Agyei stated.

The versatile midfielder who can play centre-back further appealed to head coach Otto Addo and his technical team to keep track of his progress in Scotland.

” I urge Coach Otto Addo and the Ghanaian coaching team to keep an eye on my performances in the Scottish Premier League, and if I’m doing well, to give me a chance with the Black Stars,” he added.

Agyei, born on November 3, 2004, recently secured a move to Scottish Premiership side Dundee United in February 2026 from Israeli outfit FC Ashdod. Known for his physical presence, composure under pressure, and ability to operate as a defensive midfielder or centre-back, he is regarded as one of Ghana’s emerging talents abroad.

Before his move to Europe, Agyei enjoyed a successful spell with Dreams FC between 2021 and 2024, winning the Ghana FA Cup and helping the club reach the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup. He was also a key member of Ghana’s U20 side that won gold at the 2023 African Games.

The midfielder also paid tribute to former coach Karim Zito, crediting him for shaping his development.

“Playing in every position under Coach Karim Zito at Dreams FC shaped my career, and I am truly thankful for the experience,” he said.

With regular football experience in Europe, Agyei now believes he is ready to take the next step representing Ghana at the highest level.
