t is unclear what discussions took place behind the scenes that led to the GFA’s decision to reinstate Hearts of Oak’s home matches at the venue.

The Phobians have been unable to play at their traditional home since September 2024, when the stadium was closed for urgent upgrades to meet international standards

. During this period, they relocated to the University of Ghana Stadium for their home fixtures.

Their last match at the Accra Sports Stadium ended in disappointment—a 1-0 defeat to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars on the opening day of the season.
