GPL: “We lacked concentration”- Prosper Ogum reacts to Kotoko’s defeat against Legon Cities
Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has attributed their defeat to Legon Cities to loss of concentration from his team.
The Porcupine Warriors lost 2-1 to the Royals at the University of Ghana sports stadium on Wednesday night. Albert Yeboah scored first for Legon Cities before Kotoko’s Albert Amoah restored parity. However, Abdul Rahman gave Legon Cities the maximum points after scoring in the dying embers of the game.
The defeat to Legon Cities is Asante Kotoko’s first of the season while Legon Cities also won their first game.
Speaking on what could have contributed to the defeat, gaffer for Kotoko, Prosper Ogum revealed the players were not concentrating as the game approached the final minutes.
“I think a slight loss of concentration accounted for our defeat. If you look at the two goals that they scored, I mean it was just loss of concentration.” He said.
Prosper Ogum also added that though the team has lost its first game of the season, they need to forget about it and concentrate on the next task.
“It was an exciting game and a game of two halves. It was not the best of ways to lose especially if you look at the way we played in the second half. It shouln’t had happen but then it has. We just have to put ourselves together and then move on.” He added.
Asante Kotoko are currently second on the league table with 15 points and would play their next game against Hearts of Lions in Obuasi.
