Godwin Attram Targets Historic MTN FA Cup Triumph with Attram De Visser
Head coach of Attram De Visser Academy, Godwin Attram, has expressed unwavering determination to lead his team to MTN FA Cup glory, promising a full-throttle effort in the semifinals against Golden Kick FC.
The Division One League side has emerged as one of the surprise packages of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup, having stunned Premier League outfit Bibiani GoldStars in the Round of 16 and edged PAC Academy in the quarterfinals to secure a historic spot in the last four.
Attram De Visser are set to face another lower-tier side, Golden Kick, in the semifinals at the TNA Park on Saturday, May 10, with a spot in the grand finale at stake.
Speaking ahead of the clash, head coach and former Black Stars forward Godwin Attram emphasized the significance of the competition and vowed that his players would leave everything on the pitch in pursuit of the title.
“Why should we play and waste our time throughout? Over a hundred clubs and now at the final end, the ultimate,” Attram told 3Sports.
“You have the chance and an opportunity from Almighty God to win the cup, and you won’t kill yourself to go to the CAF Championship?” he added passionately.
Attram highlighted the enormous value winning the FA Cup would bring to his young squad and the academy as a whole.
“It’s an honour and exposure for the players if you really want to market the academy. If we are able to win the competition, we will represent Ghana at the Confederation Cup,” he said.
A victory on May 10 would see Attram De Visser reach the final of the prestigious competition for the first time, where they would face the winner of the other semifinal tie between Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko.
The grand finale is scheduled to be held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, and a win could earn the academy side a historic place in African club competition.
