“Ghana Will Avoid Complacency in Crucial World Cup Qualifiers”- Henry Asante Twum
Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has assured fans that the Black Stars will not repeat past mistakes as they prepare for their decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clashes against the Central African Republic (CAR) and Comoros.
The Black Stars, led by head coach Otto Addo, are currently in Morocco preparing for their encounter with CAR on Wednesday, October 8, before returning to Accra for their final group match against Comoros on Sunday, October 12.
Speaking ahead of the games, Asante Twum stressed that the team has learned valuable lessons from their earlier struggles in the qualifiers and is determined to approach the upcoming fixtures with renewed focus and intensity.
“Ghana will not repeat the complacency that cost us against Chad in tomorrow’s CAR clash,” he stated.
“Otto Addo is focused on leading the team to victory.” He told Asempa FM.
With qualification for the World Cup within reach, Asante Twum emphasized that the entire technical team and playing body are fully aware of the stakes and are leaving nothing to chance.
Ghana need a win against CAR to strengthen their position at the top of the group before facing Comoros in what could be the decisive fixture for a place at the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars are seeking their fifth World Cup qualification, having previously featured in the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 editions.
