Widely regarded as one of Ghana’s finest midfielders, Osei’s career began at Okwahu United before he rose to prominence with Asante Kotoko. His talent earned him a move to Germany, where he played for Bundesliga sides Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz 05.

Transitioning to coaching after his playing career, Osei worked with various Ghanaian clubs, including New Edubiase United, Liberty Professionals, and his former club Asante Kotoko. He also served as an assistant coach for Ghana’s U23 team, the Black Meteors, for five years before the technical team was disbanded in 2023.

Osei’s death marks a significant loss for Ghanaian football, as he was not only a celebrated player but also a mentor to many young talents. His contributions to the sport will be remembered fondly by fans and colleagues alike.
