Black Queens striker Doris Boaduwaa has shared her excitement and appreciation after finding the back of the net in Ghana’s commanding 3-0 victory over Egypt in the first leg of the 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.

The match, played in Ismailia, saw Boaduwaa open the scoring for Ghana in the 42nd minute, latching onto a perfectly floated pass behind the Egyptian defence before finishing calmly to hand the Queens a first-half lead.

Her goal set the tone for a dominant Ghanaian performance, with Mary Amponsah and Grace Asantewaa later adding their names to the scoresheet in the 82nd and 93rd minutes respectively to seal the emphatic win.

Reflecting on the victory, Boaduwaa took to her official X account to express her joy and anticipation ahead of the second leg in Accra.

“One last dance on Tuesday in Accra. Grateful to be on the score sheet. See you all at the Accra Sports Stadium!” she wrote.

The Black Queens are set to face Egypt again in the return leg on Tuesday, October 28, at the Accra Sports Stadium at 15:30 GMT, where they will aim to complete the job and secure qualification to the 2026 Women’s AFCON in Morocco — scheduled to kick off on March 17.

Ghana, who finished third at the 2024 Women’s AFCON, will be eager to build on their resurgence and make a strong statement on the continental stage once again.
