Didi Dramani Keeps Faith Despite Hearts of Oak’s Stalemate Against Hohoe United
Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has taken a calm approach following his team’s goalless draw with newly promoted Hohoe United in the curtain-raiser of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians came into the encounter on the back of a productive pre-season and looked poised to make a winning start. Midfielder Abdul Karim dictated the tempo in midfield, while forward Frank Abora Duku caused problems with his movement and pace, keeping the Hohoe defence on alert.
Despite their dominance in possession, Hearts were unable to find the finishing touch in the attacking third. Hohoe United, making their debut in the top flight, earned plaudits for their discipline and defensive organisation, frustrating their more illustrious opponents to secure a valuable point.
Speaking after the final whistle, Dramani admitted his side lacked precision in the decisive areas but praised the overall display.
“There is a lot we can change. We will find the right solutions. The energy and performance today was good,” he said.
The Hearts boss further noted that minor tweaks in attack could have changed the outcome.
“We just needed small adjustments in the final third. I believe they played with courage and kept our identity. We just needed the cutting edge,” he added.
The result leaves both clubs with a point apiece, with Hearts missing the chance to set an early marker in the title race, while Hohoe United marked their Premier League debut with a performance that will boost confidence ahead of the challenges to come.
