Hull City midfielder Darko Gyabi has given the clearest indication yet that he is open to pursuing an international career with Ghana, reaffirming his strong connection to his heritage as questions over his national team future continue to surface.

Gyabi, who was born in England to Ghanaian parents, has risen through the ranks of England’s youth setup and featured prominently at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

But after going more than a year without an appearance for the England U-21s, speculation has grown over a possible switch.

In an interview with RG, the 21-year-old confirmed that while his immediate priority is performing for Hull City in the Championship, the prospect of playing for Ghana remains very real.

“I definitely know that Ghana can be an option in the future, but it’s all about timing,” Gyabi stated, highlighting his openness to a Black Stars call-up.

He added that his background continues to shape his identity: “My Ghanaian roots are just part of who I am.

The midfielder, who spent part of his youth career at Manchester City remains focused on helping Hull City push for a strong finish in the Championship but his comments suggest the door to a future with the Black Stars is wide open.
