Christopher Bonsu Baah has emerged as one of Ghana’s most exciting young prospects following his dazzling performances at the recently concluded Unity Cup in London.

The 20-year-old forward, who plies his trade with Belgian side Genk, stole the spotlight with a confident display on his senior debut against Nigeria, and followed it up with an electrifying performance against Trinidad and Tobago.

With Ghana currently leading their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group with 15 points and four matches to go, Bonsu Baah believes the Black Stars have what it takes to secure a spot at the global showpiece in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

“I think it will not mean a lot to only me, for my family and for the nation—everyone—because Ghana qualifying to the World Cup is something big for the nation,” Baah said in an interview with Joy Sports.

“Not only us but every country, when you hear or when you see like you are in the World Cup, it is something big for everyone, so I think it will mean a lot for us.”

Despite the excitement, the young winger remains grounded and focused on consistent growth, both at the national and club levels.

“We are 100% confident that we are going to qualify. For me, I think it’s every player’s dream to be part of the national team squad to the World Cup,” he said.

“But as I said, when you focus on those things, you cannot perform; you just have to trust the process one after the other.

“Now I go to my club and I focus on my club and I give all to my club, and we will see what will come next.”

Baah’s composure, maturity, and perspective have drawn admiration from both fans and analysts, who now see him as a valuable asset in Ghana’s ongoing transition under head coach Otto Addo.
