The Black Queens of Ghana will continue their preparations for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with an international friendly against Ivory Coast today, Friday, May 30, 2025.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 PM GMT at the Stade Félix-Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, as part of Ghana’s build-up to the continental tournament set to take place in Morocco this July.

Head coach Kim Björkegren has assembled a strong squad for the fixture, blending experience with new talent as the team intensifies its final phase of training. Among the players expected to feature are debutant Louisa Aniwaa, as well as Nancy Amoh.

The friendly is one of two matches lined up against the Ivorian women’s national team, providing an opportunity for the Black Queens to test their tactics, improve cohesion, and finalize squad selections ahead of WAFCON.

Ghana will be aiming to return to the tournament with renewed ambition, having missed out on recent editions. With preparations ramping up, the friendly encounters in Abidjan are expected to play a vital role in the team’s readiness for the continental showpiece.
