Black Queens Set for Nine-Day Training Camp in Senegal Ahead of WAFCON 2025
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Black Queens will travel to Senegal for a nine-day intensive training camp from April 1 to April 9, 2025, as part of their build-up to the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
During their stay, Ghana’s senior women’s team will participate in a series of friendly matches, including two international friendlies against the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal in Dakar on April 5 and April 8.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren is expected to announce his squad soon, with the camp playing a vital role in fine-tuning the team’s tactics and fitness ahead of the tournament.
After falling short in 2018 and missing out on the 2022 edition, the Black Queens are determined to make a strong comeback in Morocco. Ghana has been drawn into Group C, where they will face defending champions South Africa, Tanzania and Mali
With a challenging group ahead, the training camp in Senegal will be crucial in ensuring the team is well-prepared for the tournament.
