Ghana’s Black Queens are set for a tough challenge at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after being drawn into Group C alongside defending champions South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania.

The draw, conducted on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Mohammed VI Complex in Morocco, unveiled the group stage matchups for the 13th edition of the tournament, scheduled to take place from July 5 to July 26, 2025.

The Black Queens face a particularly challenging task as they prepare to meet South Africa, who claimed their first-ever WAFCON title in Morocco in 2022. Under the guidance of coach Nora Hauptle, Ghana will aim to navigate this competitive group to advance to the knockout stages and contest for the championship.

Having missed the last edition of the tournament, the Black Queens secured their return to WAFCON with a strong qualifying campaign under Hauptle’s leadership. The team is determined to reclaim its place among the continent’s elite and pursue a maiden WAFCON title.
