Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey capped off a memorable season with Ludogorets Razgrad by lifting the Bulgarian Cup, helping the club complete a remarkable domestic double after also winning the Bulgarian First League title.

The 27-year-old, who recently made a comeback from a long-term injury, was named in the squad for the cup final against CSKA Sofia but remained an unused substitute.

Brazilian winger Caio Vidal’s decisive strike secured a 1-0 victory for Ludogorets at the Vasil Levski National Stadium, clinching the club’s fourth Bulgarian Cup triumph.

The victory adds to Tekpetey’s growing list of accolades in Bulgaria. The former Schalke 04 and Fortuna Düsseldorf attacker has now won the Bulgarian Cup three times consecutively and has amassed nine major titles with Ludogorets, including five league championships. His trophy haul places him among the most decorated Ghanaian footballers currently active in Europe.

Swiss-born Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Duah, who also featured in the final, played 85 minutes and came close to extending Ludogorets’ lead before being substituted late in the second half.

Tekpetey, who has been a key figure in Ludogorets’ dominance in Bulgarian football over the past few seasons, will now return to Ghana for the summer break. He is expected to rejoin the squad for pre-season preparations in July.
