Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper and captain, Benjamin Asare, has pledged an improved campaign from the Phobians next season, assuring fans that the club will work hard to challenge for titles.

The veteran shot-stopper made the comments following Hearts’ 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea on Sunday at the Golden City Park in Matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League.

With the Phobians sitting 5th on the table with 49 points and already eliminated from the FA Cup by lower-tier side Golden Kick, hopes of silverware this season have all but faded.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, Asare admitted the team fell short of their goals this season but believes lessons learned will fuel a stronger resurgence.

“We admit things didn’t go as we wanted, but we urge the fans to have faith in us,” he said.

“Next season, we will work hard to ensure the team improves.”

Asare, who has been in exceptional form this season with multiple clean sheets, has emerged as a key figure in the Hearts setup and is determined to lead by example as the club rebuilds for a fresh challenge.

Hearts of Oak will return to action on Sunday, May 25, when they host Accra Lions in Matchday 32 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The match presents an opportunity to finish the season strongly and set the tone for a renewed title push in the 2025/26 campaign.
